Highlighting Sarah's book, Justice Denied
Thank you, Sarah, for sharing with us on Brushing Wings!
Greetings from Northern Virginia! I’m Sarah Hamaker and I love writing books “where the hero and heroine fall in love while running for their lives.” Many of my romantic suspense novels (both indie and traditionally published) feature ordinary men and women thrust into extraordinary circumstances. I’m delighted that my indie published books frequently final and win awards, including the 2023 Selah Fiction Book of the Year for The Dark Guest.
I’ve also penned two nonfiction books (one on parenting and one on working from home), as well as hundreds of articles as a freelancer. As a AWSA certified writer and speaker coach, my heart is encouraging writers.
I love giving back to the writing and reader communities through my podcast, “The Romantic Side of Suspense,” where I interview Christian romantic suspense authors each month and bring listeners insights into new releases in the category. The podcast can be found wherever you listen to podcasts.
When I’m not writing, I can be found with a cat or two on my lap watching a British crime show on BritBox or Acorn drinking a cuppa tea. In addition to raising our four children (two college seniors, one high school senior, and one high school junior), my husband and I are therapeutic foster parents. Plus, I’m a high-impact tutor in English at a Fairfax County Public School middle school, helping seventh and eighth graders improve their knowledge and understanding of our wonderful, wacky language.
You might wonder how I find time to write, but the better question would be how could I not write! I’ve been spinning stories since I was a little girl and can’t imagine a life without bringing to life on the page these characters and storylines rumbling around in my head.
My most recent romantic suspense is book two in my Seeking Justice series, Justice Denied. This is the story of Seth Whitman, a photojournalist you met in book one, Justice Delayed, and his neighbor Jetta Ainsley.
Jetta’s life had been complicated enough as she navigates cleaning out the family home while her mother recovers from a car accident. When her dog is hurt, her next-door neighbor, Seth, offers his help. Seth would like to do more for Jetta but the walls she’s placed around her heart are unsurmountable.
Then she learns her late father had been accused of embezzlement, drawing Jetta into a web of secrets that could prove his innocence—or destroy her. When digging into her father’s past brings danger to their doorstep, Jetta turns to Seth for assistance in uncovering who stole millions before someone gets hurt.
Seth tries to protect Jetta and her mother from the increasing danger, while clues lead them ever deeper into a tangled conspiracy. Unraveling the sinister plot will require all their courage, faith, and trust in each other.
But will uncovering the truth clear her father’s name—or destroy their growing love for one another?
